The mission of The Catholic University of America as a community of students, faculty, administrators, and staff is to pursue the truth in all its forms through excellence as a Catholic university, excellence in graduate research and excellence in teaching and learning. Fulfillment of this mission requires, among other things, that our workplace embody the Catholic principles of social justice, especially the benefits from working as a community of service toward a shared aim. This common vision entails the university's commitment to its employees. To learn more about this commitment, please read the entire CUA Philosophy on Human Resources Management. To learn more about CUA employees' commitment to the university, please read the CUA Code of Conduct Statement.

The Office of Human Resources provides services to the university community in the recruitment and training of employees, and in the administration of benefits and compensation. Human Resources also assists departments and offices in meeting their staffing goals, promoting equal opportunities, managing job performance and interpreting policy. Furthermore, HR supports employees and their supervisors in reconciling differences and achieving harmony to promote effective work relationships that adhere to the values of a Catholic institution.

The Office of Human Resources is responsible for developing and administering a university-wide personnel program that includes employment, labor relations, benefits, compensation, staff training and development, as well as the development of any related policies.

The university is committed to maintaining a diverse workforce and to treating employees fairly and equitably. Consistent with its philosophy on human resource management, the university promotes respect for the equal dignity of all people. The university complies with and promotes conduct consistent with federal and local EEO laws and regulations, including but not limited to Title VII and Title IX. Information on university EEO policies and procedures and contact information for the EEO and Employee Relations Manager and Title IX coordinator is available at
