CIGNA Healthcare HMO and Point of Service Plans

Effective January 1 - December 31, 2004

Each year the University evaluates the benefits package offered to employees and enhances benefits where feasible.In 2004, health insurance will continue to be offered through CIGNA HealthCare.  Both the HMO and POS plans currently in place will be offered for 2004.

• CUA pays approximately 57% of the lowest cost plan 
• Coverage may be effective the first day of employment or the first of the following month within 30 days of employment. 
• Annual open enrollment is scheduled for November with an effective date of January 1st of the next year. 
• Employee share of the monthly premium is deducted from salary before taxes. 
• Managed care setting coverage includes preventive care, comprehensive medical and hospitalization, pharmacy benefits, and dental and vision discounts. 
• COBRA continuation coverage is available. 
• Employee's health insurance premiums are deducted one month in advance. 
• In accordance with its mission, CUA will not pay for any health services which are opposed to its ethical and religious principles.
